Roy Myers, MD
Having left Richland in 1970, Dr. Myers has finally made it back to the Pacific Northwest after serving 7 years in the
Navy, finishing medical school, and getting some great experience. While in the Navy, he lived in NW Australia and
worked in electronics. He became acquainted with the medical providers stationed there and connected with their
profession. He changed his focus from engineering to medicine, and as a result, became the first in his generation to go to
college at Colorado. He chose Family Medicine and loves working with children. His wife Cheryl, and he currently live in
Benton City. The Myers would like to relocate to Dayton or Waitsburg, but haven't found "the" house. As a Family
Practitioner, he enjoys working from conception to gray (or no) hair. He connects with people perhaps because he isn't
the "lab coat and tie" kind of person. He is approachable and works hard to gain your trust.
Dawn Meicher, ARNP
Dawn, who has been in nursing since 1991, a majority of that time in intensive care, is your Nurse Practitioner. While in
ICU, she decided to take the next step to become an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Her goal as your
provider is to give individual attention to each patient while making the Waitsburg Clinic stable long-term. Since working
in Waitsburg, she says "The people are great and the new clinic is exciting". The small town feeling, being a local
provider, and working as part of the community is what she and her husband, Wayne, have been looking for since
leaving Colorado in 2002. The Meichers farmed in southeast Colorado for 25 years. Coming back to an agricultural
based rural community was extremely important. Now, another dream has come true that enables Dawn to live and
work in the same community. After looking all over Washington State, the Meichers felt the Dayton/Waitsburg area had everything they were
looking for. They both were attracted to agricultural base roots, the history of the area, winter sports, scenic views, and the people which make rural life so wonderful.
