Project Description The City has just recently completed a multi-year effort to upgrade part of the water
system. In 2001, an inspection by the State Department of Health identified some areas where the water system did not comply with the State's standards, especially with the wellfield facilities that
are near McGregor's on Garden Street. Over the next several years, an improvements project was developed, low interest loan funding was acquired through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, the
project was designed, and then the improvements were constructed. Major project elements included winterizing
Well No. 2, a new wellfield building through which the water from all three wellfield wells is pumped and metered, a chlorination system for the wellfield, bypass capabilities for each well, and a new radio
telemetry system that can automatically turn Well No. 2 on and off based on the reservoir level. The picture shows the new piping manifold inside the wellfield building. These improvements are
just one step in the ongoing process of upgrading one of Waitsburg's most important assets, our municipal water system. Staff If you have questions about this
facility please contact the City of Waitsburg or Anderson Perry & Associates, Inc. Keith Olson, P.E.
