News! The Mill project is moving forward. The City has set aside $2,600 and the WA State Dept. of Community Trade and Economic Development has
awarded the City a grant of $19,500 towards an initial study of the structure. The state money is contingent on a local match of $7430 obtained prior to the end of June.."The

Waitsburg. Even today, Waitsburg is all about raising and marketing wheat. The Waitsburg Commercial Revitalization Committee has formed a subgroup to investigate preservation of the mill, at
least as a landmark and preferably for a number of possible uses. Project Goals Raise funds to preserve the Waitsburg Mill. Discuss all possible steps for
preservation, revitalization, and uses. Schedule
Funding is needed to get this project going. Staff The Committee is made up of five permanent members and a number of
interested citizens who attend meetings and assist the Committee in various ways. The Committee presently a part of the City of Waitsburg and is organized as a nonprofit organization. Funding is
collected in a separate City fund and expenses are reimbursed by action of the City Council. |
