NEWS!
The Environmental Classification Study as well as the Historical Assessment of the Downtown Historic District have been completed. The project should go out for bid in early 2007 with contruction to begin in late Spring and completion in early June.

Project Description
The Waitsburg Community Revitalization Program Streetscape Design Plan was done in 2003. The process included and inventory of existing conditions, a survey prepared by Anderson Perry, an architectural inventory to review the condition of existing buildings, and a surface inventory of streets, sidewalks and site furniture. Further reviews wer made of land use patterns in the area, architectural character, and of historic information provided by residents of the City.

The study area included the core of historic Waitsburg, from Third Street to Front Street and Coppei Ave to the Alley west of Main Street. The project area, while focusing on the Downtown core, also considered impacts of the revitalization efforts on other parts of the town, with respect to identifying locations for community identification signs, connections to other community resources, and historical sites.

Upon completion of the preliminary survey work and inventory, the team held 3 public workshops to encourage citizen involvement.

Now that the Revitalization Plan is complete funding is needed to proceed with these projects.
