Waitsburg Skate Park
It all started when…
Built in 1927, the former Waitsburg Pool had been closed since 2020. Once it was deemed no longer usable, City Staff, with the help of the local park and recreation district, came up with an idea to convert the site into an ice rink. After researching the idea, grant funds were secured from Walla Walla County, a syntenic material was chosen, installed and ready for use in time for Waitsburg Hometown Christman in December of 2025.
Deemed a resounding success, phase two in now in the works to expand the western end of the site into an area for skateboarders, roller skates, etc. to use during the warmer months. The images below represent the conceptual idea of what the improvements would look like once funding if found.
